Agenda Item withdrawn.

The Major Projects Manager and the Principal Planning Officer provided the Committee with a verbal update regarding the current status of Agenda Item 5.  

The Principal Planning Officer explained that application WNS/2021/0450/MAF had been withdrawn from the agenda as Officers felt it prudent that the Council await the outcome of the Greens Norton appeal, which was currently with the Planning Inspector, prior to determining this application.

In response to questions from the Committee, the Principal Planning Officer advised that if the result of the Greens Norton appeal was not forthcoming by the end of March 2022, then application WNS/2021/0450/MAF would be brought back before the Committee shortly thereafter for full determination.

Councillor Karen Cooper requested that it be recorded in the minutes her view that the withdrawal of application WNS/2021/0450/MAF from the agenda was disappointing and inappropriate, and that planning applications should be determined on their own merit and not on the basis of findings from the Planning Inspector in relation to an entirely separate matter.

A legal opinion had been sought by Officers in advance of the decision to withdraw application WNS/2021/0450/MAF from the agenda.
