Action plan reviewed

Perspectives report
Aimee shared a request from Regeneration for the Youth Forum to be involved in the designs for the hoarding (fencing) around the market square works. All agreed this was great news and something the group would like to do with view to incorporating ideas for the youth vision for Northampton. Action: Aimee to add to agenda for October and invite regeneration team and artist.

Youth Parliament

Group discussed recommendation from Youth Voice to consider engaging rural areas through established youth clubs, using an online ‘youth priorities’ questionnaire for young people across West Northants to feed into the Youth Parliament. Agreed the priority for the Forum at this time is to engage more with Cabinet and comment on issues being discussed and proposed decisions. Action: Aimee to liaise with Cllr Baker/democratic services re this opportunity.

Youth Summit
Covered in agenda – progress being made. Agenda item to be added to October meeting to review and have a final run through of the workshop.

UK Parliament Week

Forum would like to use this as a soft launch for Youth Parliament, involving a Youth Council meeting with Cabinet members and local MP’s to present their Perspectives report and have a Q&A. Suggested we could open up tickets to a number of young people not currently involved in the youth forum to get wider engagement and help promote the forum and opportunities to have your voice heard.

Holocaust Memorial Day
Michaella enquired about the Challah bread making workshop. Good Loaf cannot accommodate in December. Action: Aimee to explore other options.
