Agreed to cease hybrid in favour of in person socials and virtual meetings going forward.

Life in Colour Project

Zach (Support Northamptonshire)

Minutes:

Zach is working on a project for LGBTQ+ people of colour, through Support Northamptonshire.

Very new project. Only had their first meeting this evening. This project supports young people and young adults 18-25 but is flexible. Currently exploring venues.

16 Days of Activism

Minutes:

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign that kicks off on 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

WNC will have a calendar of activities/events going on during the 16 days that can be shared with the group.

Action Plan review

1st Dec - World Aids Day civic event

 

Minutes:

World Aids Day 1st December – Plan a civic event to commemorate those who have lost their lives to AIDs and to raise awareness of testing and medication

Transgender Day of remembrance is also coming up on 29th November, Looking to see if other are marking the occasion and possibly join in.

Community Information Exchange

Minutes:

QSpace – a big thank you to those who attended the anniversary celebrations and a big thank you to all for continued support.

Aaron shared details of the next social. This will be joint West and North 21st November 6-8pm Swanspool Pavilion Wellingborough

Aaron - progress on the project to support the older LGBTQ community, specifically those in care settings. Has been working with Adult Learning and has approval for funds to create training for those working in care settings. - Watch this space.

Zoe - Qstory meet up/book launch Saturday 21st October 4.30-6.30 at Moulton Library

Kelly – new youth groups at the Lowdown on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Not LGBTQ focused but inclusive. Working with young people on their social media content.

Recently lost 2 volunteers and are asking around if you know of anyone interested Fridays 5-10
